Domestic Affairs

Domestic Affairs is a design-research project that is examining new models of housing, density, and affordability in San Francisco through design. A series of symposia of the same name have offered public ways to engage designers, theorists, policymakers, community members, activists, and historians in a conversation around collective living and housing policy. Since 2016, eight symposia have taken place, highlighting different subtopics ––from equity to belonging to protocols of communing.
