The Exploratorium and California College of the Arts are pleased to present Bartertown. Join us to play this life-size board game on climate change and social resilience, with game designer Janette Kim of CCA’s Urban Works Agency. The game that explores how networks of sociability and care can adapt to climate change and other disasters, like a market crash or even a divorce. The game was created as a new kind of decision-making tool for a warming world, one that fosters new relationships between economies, design and the public.
All are welcome to watch or play. There will be 10 players joining in a game-show style format for 2 hours. To play, you must reserve a spot (RSVP at Eventbrite), and arrive at 6:30pm for instructions. To watch, you may also RSVP ("click "Register") or just show up. The game is appropriate for adults, teenagers, and everyone interested in cities, strategy, social justice and climate change. We look forward to seeing you!
